  • Life a living Testimony- Bl. Chavara

 

Devamatha CMI Public School opened the vistas for fraternity of Carmelites of Mary Immaculate (CMI),Carmelites of Mary (CMC) and Associates of CMI to unravel the living testimonies of their Founder Father, Bl.Kuriakose Alias Chavara on10th December2011at the School Auditorium.
The Seminar - Chavara Darsanam aimed to portray the incredible contributions of the pilgrim father, aveteran of modern Kerala society . As his life was a living testimony for the mankind at large, irrespective of caste,creed and religion. He sowed the seeds for the indigenous educational institutions, daily news paper, philosophical poet and the social reformer. From a humble beginning it transformed his spiritual energy at various realms.
The eminent literary figures of the cultural capital owed their obeisance to this great sage, who followed the foot steps of Jesus Christ.
The seminar was inaugurated by the screen writer and speaker of the day Shri. John Paul. He highlighted the living testimony of the sage to mankind at large.
Dr. P.V. Krishnan Nair, Secretary, Kerala Sahithya Academy, extolled the brilliant contribution of Bl.Chavara to literature. He quoted that every poet is a profound philosopher and Bl. Chavara could reach out to the hearts of many through verse form.
Rev.Fr. Jose Kuriadeth CMI, Councillor of the CMI General, discoursed on the topic B l. Chavara’s charisma as a sage amidst the common man.
Prof. K.M. Francis, St. Thomas College, stressed on the contribution of Bl. Chavara in the field of education.
Rev. Sr. Shanti CMC, St. Mary’s Province, Thamarassery, shared her views on the magna carta of Christian family by Bl. Chavara.
Rev. Fr. Paulson Paliakkara CMI welcomed the gathering and Rev. Dr. Paul Achandy CMI, presided over the occasion. Mr. Stanley K. Thomas proposed the vote of thanks.
The interactive session by College Professors and an intellectual stream of 1500 audience made the seminar and incredible one.
The participation of all the sister concerns of the congregations of CMI Devamatha Province, CMC Nirmala Province, Thrissur and ACMI made the day a grand success.
The enlightenment of the seminar will indeed have a profound impact on the minds of the participants. The institutions will not dwell as social reformers but as contemplatives in the heart of the world.
