ARANGETTAM:

 

The arangettam of fifty of  our students was conducted on 18 th February 2011 under the auspices of the Devamatha Academy of Classical Dance.Padmashree Kalamandalam Kshemavathy was the chief guest of the day.Rev.Fr. George Pius Ukken CMI blessed  the ‘Chelangas’  and kalamandalam Kshemavathy presented it to the students.Mrs.Nalini Chandran ,Director Sobha Academy, inspired the children with  her thought provoking speech .The dignitaries on the stage blessed the children. The solemn yet colourful ceremony was another milestone in the history of Devamatha.

Commencement of Std XII classes

 

As an introductory session to the academic year 2011-2012, the students of Std XII made an auspicious start with prayer and retreat at Jerusalem Retreat Centre. The social awareness programme for this academic year included visit to Peace home, Athani and Snehalayam, Mundathicode- two orphanages- where students were exposed to the hard realities of life. These two days were actually time for them to introspect and plan for their future.The regular classes for Std XII commenced from 7th March 2011 onwards.

 

ANNUAL DAY CELEBRATION (1 TO V):

  The annual Day celebration (1 to V) was conducted on 15 th February 2011.Adv. Subi Babu ,Deputy Mayor of Thrissur  was the chief guest of the day. Rev.Fr. George Pius Ukken CMI presided over the function.The little ones  put up a colourful array of programmes consisting of dances and songs.The craft exhibition conducted on the same day captivated the onlookers.The students and parents enjoyed the entertainment programmes.

Adieu 2011

The students of Std X and Std XII were given a touching farewell by the junior students of the school, on 10th Feb,2011.There was a prayer session where in the students from LKG to Std IX and Std XI prayed for the Board exam students. A sumptuous lunch was followed by cultural programmes put up by the students of Std IX and Std XI.

 

ANNUAL DAY CELEBRATION (VI TO XII)

 

The AnnualDay celebration for the classes VI to XII ,held on 28th January 2011. The guest of the day was Rev Dr Sr Rani CMC and Mr Vinod Kumar .N Asst Motor Vechicle Inspecter .A colurful programme was presented by the students .Awards were also given to the students excellent in curricular and Co-curricular activities.

FAMILY DAY

 

All Devites with their family met together on 26th January 2011 at 6.30 pm .It was a funfilled session .The new members were introduced and they shared their thoughts .The games and entertainment programme added colour to the programme .The programme concluded with a dinner.

 

ANNUAL SPORTS MEET IN DEVAMATHA - 2011

The 16th Annual Sports meet was held in the School grounds on January 7th 2011. Mr Igni Mathew, the President of Sports Council was th guest of honour . Fr George Pius Ukken CMI , Provincial Devamatha Province was also present to encourge the students .The students from STD III to XI took part in the march past .All the students participated in the events in the true spirit of sportsmanship . Vivekananda house was the Overall Winner and the first Runner Up was Gandhi house.

CHRISTMAS   CELEBRATIONS IN DEVAMATHA

Christmas was celebrated on 23rd   December 2010 .Gifts were exchanged in the classrooms. The students  shared their X’mas happiness with their teachers by sharing the Christmas cake. A grand celebration was held in the auditorium in the afternoon session. His Holiness Mar Yohannan  Youseph  Episcopa , Bishop of  Chaldean Syrian Church of the East and  Rev.Fr.George Pius Ukken CMI , Provincial and Manager, Devamatha Province graced the occasion. The Carol Competition and the Angel Dance added colour to the occasion.

CHRISTMAS CAROLS ON TCV

Come December , the joy of Christmas in the air!!The melodious carols sung by the Devites will be telecast on TCV on 23rd  December, 2010 at 10.00 pm.

 

CHRISTMAS RINGS IN DEVAMATHA SCHOOL

Devamatha’s December Assembly was made symbolic everyday  by the  Devites from Std 1 to XII with their  Christmas offerings ,choir and messages.All the children participated enthusiastically , delivering the valuable messages.The various classes made the following offerings Christmas tree, Christmas crib , Christmas wreath ,Christmas star, Reindeer, Angels ,Christmas bells, Holly ,Candy cane, Stockings ,Santa, Baby Jesus

10th   CMI CBSE KALOLSAV

The 10th CMI CBSE Kalolsav was held at Viswajyothi CMI Public School Angamali on 30th October  2010.While the host school bagged the overall trophy, Devamatha CMI Public school  won the overall  second position with 414 points.44 students won ‘A’ Grade and 10 got ‘B’ Grade. All together 27 schools participated in
this festival .

TEACHERS’ DAY

“A good teacher is like a candle. It consumes itself to light the way for others”

The Teachers’ Day celebration at Devamatha CMI Public School on the 6th of September reflected the deep love and respect that the students have for their teachers. Student leaders from classes I toXII greeted their teachers with an appreciation card and flower. Teachers' prayer service was held in the afternoon . Rev.Fr. Thomas Vazhakkala led the prayer service and gave the message.

KERALA PIRAVI CELEBRATIONS

The celebration of 1st November, Kerala Piravi Day, began with the Assembly in Malayalam. Rev.Fr. John Neelankavil rendered the message stressing the importance of the Malayalam language and culture of Kerala. The students and teachers, dressed in the traditional attire made the celebration graceful. Manuscripts from all the classes portrayed the inherent talents of the children. These manuscripts were released by  Rev. Fr. John Neelankavil. 

CHILDREN'S DAY CELEBRATION

The Children’s Day, 15th November, inaugurated by Rev.Fr.Sunil Chiriyankandath, Asst.Director of Jubilee Mission Medical College was a special day for the children. They were enthralled to  see their teachers as performing artists on the stage, dancing ,singing, acting etc. The highlight of the day was the skit on "Eye Donation" by the teachers. This was followed by an oath-taking by the teachers and students, pledging to donate their eyes to IMMC Eye Bank.

DEVAMATHA BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT:

THE 2 nd  Devamatha All Kerala Basket Ball  Tournament was held on  16,17 and 18th November 2010 at Devamatha CMI Public School. St. Ephraim’s School, Mannanam won the trophy in the boy’s final and Girl’s trophy was shared by Sports division Kannur and S.N Trust ,Kollam. St .Joseph‘s School ,Pulinkunnam became the runners- up

FIRST DEVAMATHA SCHOLARSHIP EXAMINATION:

The First Devamatha Scholarship Exam held on 3rd December empowered the students to be life long learners, critical thinkers and to enhance their potential in the pursuit of excellence. The toppers list was declared on 10th December 2010. Results

 

CBSE KALOLSAV:

The all  kerala State Management Youth Festival was held from 26,27,28 November 2010,at M.E.T Public School Perumbavoor.Our school bagged the 5th  position.

 

TDCSA BASKET BALL TOURNAMENT

            The TDCSA Basket Ball Tournament was held on 14th  September 2010 at Devamatha CMI Public School . Sri. P.J Sunny ,the Selection Committee chairman of the Indian Basket Ball Team was the  Chief Guest of the day.The other dignitaries were Ms. Molly Thayyil, Principal of Santa Maria Academy and Mr.James Valappila,Editor of City Journal .Eleven Schools participated in the tournament..Devites proved their mettle securing the First Position in  the TDCSA Tournament..

ENRICHMENT PROGRAMME FOR PARENTS:

                   Three seminars were conducted on 18 th,19 th, September and 8 th    November 2010 for the mothers by Rev.Fr. Paul Pottackal  CMI ,President of Insight Counselling Centre and , Dr Anathakesavan , Associate Professor (Paediatrician) Medical College Thrissur. The topics were “ Challenges of Motherhood” and  “ Health and Hygiene of children”.

 

HEALTH IS WEALTH

  A Medical checkup was conducted by the Doctors from Amala Institute of Medical Sciences for the students of  STD  I to XII  .

 

THE WONDER THAT WAS VISTA

The Vision  of the Devites is to build a spirit of curiosity to enhance learning by doing,  to inculcate divergent thinking and to develop creativity. The motto of Vista was-Explore and Energize .  Mrs Paul Rose from the English Department inaugurated the exhibition. Mrs Sheela Thomas HOD of the Science  Department   highlighted the importance of Science and Technology in this era . Students from Std 1 to XII proved their skills and talents in their presentation and exhibits. An exhibition of the teachers creativity was also displayed in  the Principal’s  office
