At Devamatha, social initiatives help students grow into empathetic, responsible citizens. Through service, awareness, and environmental action, young people learn that even small acts of care can strengthen a community.
Nalla Paadam (“Good Path”) is Malayala Manorama’s flagship social commitment programme and statewide award initiative. It encourages students to practise empathy, social responsibility, civic awareness, and environmental care through community welfare projects, street plays, environmental drives, and charitable efforts.
Open-campus charity markets bring students, parents, and teachers together to share pre-loved clothing, footwear, toys, books, and household goods. Items are sorted for redistribution or offered at nominal prices, while proceeds support medical relief, education funds, and local charitable homes.
Students take learning beyond the classroom with street plays, flash mobs, and rally campaigns in public spaces, including the Thrissur Municipal Corporation area. Through performance and conversation, they invite the community to reflect on shared concerns.
The spirit of outreach also lives in regular acts of sharing and stewardship across the school community.
Rooted in the CMI spirit of holistic responsibility, students take part in visits to old age homes, orphanages, and special-needs centres. Drives for non-perishable food, stationery, hygiene products, and festival kits support families across Thrissur district.
